Current Work and Interests

Aerospace

You probably won't be shocked to learn that our passion is space research, including planetary science, planetary defense, astrobiology, exploration technology, instrument development, and Earth observation. We believe that human knowledge and exploration are driven by both science "pull" (that is, a desire to gather specific data that drives engineering design) and technology "push" (where new technology enables entirely new approaches to science). We happen to think that we're pretty good and bringing scientists and engineers together and bridging the "languages" of both realms. We also think that's a pretty unique thing, and we've seen firsthand the success that this interaction generates.

Energy and Environment

We are inspired and impacted by the North Coast's greatest resource, the Great Lakes, and the challenges faced by ecosystems that depend on the health of this water. Likewise, we know that climate change... the shifting of biome margins faster than the life within them can adapt... is one of the most powerful challenges of our lifetimes. We seek to leverage our skills and resources to further understand and preserve the environment on the only world that we know of that currently supports life.

Small Steps

We're still starting up. So the scope of research that we can accomodate at the moment is limited to work that can be done digitally or via partnerships. While we build up physical research and engineering spaces, we'll also be establishing relationships with regional institutions that can provide some of the analytic and fabrication capabilities that we'll need in the immediate future.
